South Central Regional Medical Center received word today from the Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) that a Jones County resident they tested reported positive for the Coronavirus.

Jeremy Rogers, DO, Medical Director of South Central’s Emergency Department, said, “We have a new protocol in place in our Emergency Department. If an individual presents with symptoms of the Coronavirus, they are asked to drive around to an in-car testing area. This patient from Jones County did not come into the Emergency Department, but was tested in her car.”

This is South Central’s third patient to report positive for the Coronavirus by the MSDH. None were admitted to SCRMC:
